In-school instructional leadership
Better instructional leadership happens in classrooms.
Real classrooms. Better coaching. Stronger schools.
Stroll Fieldwork brings experienced instructional leaders into your school to work alongside your team. Every experience is grounded in your school's actual work, with Stroll providing the structure to keep that work moving.

Why Fieldwork
Get in the work. Build the skill. Own the process.
Fieldwork puts instructional leadership into practice. Your team works with a Stroll consultant in classrooms, examines what students are doing and learning, and develops better ways to recognize strong instruction, identify needs, and support teachers. Between visits, your leaders put the work into practice. Every session builds toward greater independence.
Look closely.
Walk classrooms together and develop a shared understanding of useful instructional evidence.
Coach with purpose.
Translate observations into focused feedback and productive coaching conversations.
Make the work sustainable.
Build routines for walkthroughs, reflection, and follow-through that your team can own.
How Fieldwork works
Four experiences. One goal: confident instructional leaders.
A typical Fieldwork engagement follows four experiences across several weeks. The sequence is flexible and adjusts to your school's people, priorities, and progress. These are working sessions, with real classrooms at the center.
-
See the Work
Visit classrooms side by side. Identify evidence of student learning, compare observations, and develop a shared picture of meaningful instructional practice.
-
Develop the Feedback
Turn classroom evidence into clear, actionable feedback. Model and practice the conversations that help teachers reflect, respond, and improve.
-
Put It Into Practice
School leaders take the lead. The consultant observes walkthroughs, feedback decisions, and coaching conversations, then provides precise, practical guidance.
-
Own the Process
Review the evidence collected in Stroll, refine team routines, and establish a plan to sustain effective observation and coaching without the consultant.
Four sessions are a recommended development arc, not a required package size or rigid curriculum. Districts can distribute sessions according to school needs.
Schools & districts
Built for one school. Flexible enough for an entire district.
Schools experience Fieldwork in focused half-day sessions of up to three hours. Districts purchase consultant days, with two half-day sessions included in each day purchased. Those sessions can be allocated across campuses or used by the same school on different dates, subject to scheduling and travel requirements.
For schools
Focused practice for your leadership team
Give your leadership team focused, hands-on practice without pulling administrators away from their work for an entire day. Schedule sessions across the semester so leaders have time to apply what they learn between visits.

A bank of days, directed where they're needed
Purchase a bank of consultant days and direct the half-day sessions where they're needed. Support multiple principals, align instructional feedback practices across campuses, and build leadership capacity throughout the district.
Plan a District PartnershipExample district allocation
8 schools · 4 half-day sessions per school = 32 sessions = 16 consultant days. Each campus receives focused practice, while the district makes one coordinated services purchase.
An illustration, not a fixed package. Sessions are spread across the semester on dates that work for each campus, not 16 days in a row, and are subject to scheduling and travel requirements.

Built to finish
Our goal is to work ourselves out of the job.
Fieldwork is designed as a focused, one-time investment in your leadership team. We want your school to leave with the skills, confidence, and routines to continue the work on its own. A successful partnership ends with a stronger internal process and a clear handoff.
We measure success by what your team can do after we leave.

Questions
Common questions
Is Fieldwork the same as Stroll onboarding?
No. Virtual platform onboarding is included with a Stroll software subscription. Fieldwork is optional on-site development focused on observation, feedback, coaching, and leadership routines in real classrooms.
Does an administrator have to spend a full day with a consultant?
No. Each school-based session lasts up to three hours. A consultant day includes two half-day sessions, which can serve different campuses or be scheduled on separate dates when feasible.
Can a district share Fieldwork across several schools?
Yes. Districts purchase consultant days and allocate the included half-day sessions across participating schools based on their needs and schedules.
How long does a Fieldwork partnership last?
A typical four-session experience may span roughly 12 to 16 weeks, leaving time to practice between sessions. The schedule and scope are tailored to your team.
Do schools need Fieldwork every year?
That isn't our goal. Fieldwork builds capacity so leaders can continue independently. Additional work may make sense when a district adds schools, a leadership team changes, or new needs emerge.
Is Stroll software required?
Fieldwork is designed for schools and districts using the Stroll platform. We can discuss platform access and Fieldwork together when preparing your proposal.
How are travel costs handled?
We account for location and the number of separate trips when preparing a proposal. Travel and scheduling requirements are confirmed before an engagement begins.
